Technotextil - the main international exhibition for technical textiles, nonwovens and textile processing equipment took place in IEC «Expocentre», Moscow, from 5 to 7 September 2023.

In the exhibition 300 companies from 15 countries, such as Belarus, Germany, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkey, took part. Over 4772 specialists from 12 regions of Russia visited Technotextil 2023.

The event was supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and export centers of the Ivanovo, Chelyabinsk, and Orenburg regions.

Technotextil - is the only exhibition in Russia, which is dedicated to smart fabrics, nonwovens, yarns with special properties. Every year the professional community of specialists in the field of fabrics and equipment for their production and processing gather at one place and present their innovative solutions for creating high-tech products.

On the first day of the Technotextil, September 20, there was a FashionTech session on the topics: "New Materials and Technologies: Smart Fabrics, e-textile" and "Smart Clothing: Integration of Science and Fashion", where representatives of large companies discussed trends of smart clothes on the Russian market, new opportunities for cooperation between Russia and India, conducted a market review of smart materials in light industry, presented innovative heating fabrics, and superpowers of e-textiles. Olga Moskaluk, Head of the Center for Technology Transfer and FASHIONTECH competence of SPSUTD, curator of «smart» clothing projects of the North-West nanocenter of the RUSNANO group, and Polina Egarmin, Head of the digital industrial design cluster «SmartDesign» SPSUTD moderated the session.

Within the business program on September 21, there was a conference "From chemistry and raw materials to the finished product. Light Industry of Russia", which was moderated by Alexey Grebtsov - Chairman of Russian Outdoor Group. Representatives of the largest companies discussed the opportunities of Russian light industry in the current production conditions of high-tech products. The discussions were attended by:

The peculiarities of technical fabrics welding, options and possibilities of welding machines, stages and processes of welding, and determination of the quality of welded joints were discussed.

At Technotextil 2022, Russian startups and key players displayed the achievements in the field of "smart" clothing and innovative materials based on special fibers:

At Techtextil Russia 2021, Russian startups and large companies demonstrated their achievements in the field of smart clothing and PPE. The exposition consisted of:

The second topic of the forum was the conference «Technology and recycling». Inventors, representatives of science and business met on one platform to discuss worldwide achievements in the fields of technical textiles processing and recycling and creation of new products based on them. 
Kira Altman, a leading columnist of Business FM, and Vitaly Zharikov, Ph.D., Russian inventor, talked about Noah technology. Noah is a technology, a tool, a thread, a product, an ecosystem, aimed at improving the quality of human life. The project is divided into 3 generations.
Vitaly Zharikov and Sergey Lermontov, Ph.D., professor of the Institute of Physiologically Active Substances of RAS in Chernogolovka, discussed Noah1-2 functionality - clothing that protects from injuries, thermal risks and extreme temperatures using supercritical fluid - aerogel technology. Artem Lebedev, Ph.D., Senior Researcher at D.I. Mendeleev Russian Chemical Technology University, gave a more detailed presentation on aerogels in the development of the textile industry. Nikita Minaev, Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics, Head of Laser Nanotechnology Laboratory «Crystallography and Photography» RAS, gave the presentation on «Noah 3. Connection of the living with the non-living with the help of a string».
In addition to the developers of Noah technology, Alexey Grebtsov, Chair of the Russian Outdoor Group, spoke at the conference. Alexey discussed revolutionary solutions in the field of human safety and comfort in difficult and extreme conditions.

This year fringe program consisted of two conferences. The conference «Smart Fashion. Smart Workwear» was held on September 14. During the conference, designers, startup founders and representatives of large companies discussed the trends of smart clothes in the Russian market, complex solutions in suits for mining and processing enterprises, and superpowers of electronic textiles.
Anna Maximova, Leading Advisor on Formation of State Policy in Light Industry of the Ministry of Industry of the Russian Federation, told about perspectives of «Smart textile and clothes» segment in Russia. Olga Moskalyuk, project manager of ArktikTex, FIOP Rosnano, and Farrukh Boltbayev, designer and founder of Farrdi brand, presented clothes with «smart» textile materials. In addition, the conference was attended by the heads of the innovative projects of SeasonsTech | Russian Seasons accelerator. Olavi Siikki, the founder of the startup Warmr, told about his unique development - an electronic textile based on printed electronics technology. Bulat Aitbayev, head of MyoFit project, told about «smart» suit with sensors and a mobile platform for increasing the efficiency of sports training.

Firma Shveimash and Love Ink presented sewing equipment and fabric printing machines. Firma Shveimash presented Epson fabric printing machines, industrial sewing machines by Juki, Global, Gemsy and Duerkopp Adler, as well as preparatory cutting equipment by Rexel and Gemsy.
